RUNNER & TEAM INSTRUCTION:
* COACHES: Check-in No later than one hour prior to the starting time for each division.
* COACHES: PLEASE RETURN ALL UNUSED ITEMS (Safety Pins, Packets, etc...) IMMEDIATELY!! THIS IS MANDATORY!!
* Alabama State Meet Programs on sale today at the light pole west side of the start line.
* It is the expectation of the AHSAA that all athletes and coaches display excellent character and sportsmanship during any part of the meet, or awards presentations. Failure to respond accordingly will result in a monetary fine and possible probation and/or suspension.

STATE MEET CONTACT INFO:
* RUNNERS: We are using bibs for scoring today. Make sure your name and bib #'s are Correct. Make sure the bibs are pinned securely to your shirt all 4 corners. Make sure the bib is not obscured as you cross the finish line. DO NOT STOP your Watch 'On The Mat'. STOP IT AFTER the MAT as it will interefere with timing cameras ON THE MAT.
* COACHES/RUNNERS: Runners must be at the starting area 15 minutes prior to your race time. WE WILL DRAW FOR STARTING BOXES 15 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR RACE START TIME. PLEASE HAVE A REPRESENTATIVE FROM YOUR SCHOOL READY AND AVAILABLE OUT IN FRONT OF THE START LINE. ONLY 1 BOX PER SCHOOL. All Runners keep boxes clear and listen for the race starter to tell you when to approach the starting boxes. DO NOT ENTER BOXES UNTIL CHOSEN!
* Starting Boxes are pre-assigned/drawn for 15 mins before your race! Runners may ONLY use the box assigned to YOUR TEAM. NO EXTRA BOXES. Stay Inside YOUR BOX.
* If you have any problems with a time or interference during a race,
Report it to Registration, NOT the timer.
* Course is well marked. No cutting corners. Race officials are monitoring everywhere.
* Please pick up all garbage around your team tent before you leave. You should have a garbage bag in your packet.
* Runners do not leave water bottles, other trash, or clothing at the start line. There are more races after yours. Leave items at your team tent.
* ALL VEHICLES must be out of the park/course-race area by 7am. You must park in regular parking south of the museum. NO PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE MUSEUM! THIS IS FOR EMERGENCY PERSONNEL ONLY!
* Current Non-Runners must stay off of the start line, out of the finish chute, and off the course. DO NOT CROSS CAUTION TAPE anywhere on or around the course, ESPECIALLY around the sound equipment.
* NON-RUNNERS, During Races there is No Warming Up or Cooling Off on the course. No warming up or cooling off in the parking lot or driveways ANYTIME. This creates a traffic hazzard.
* Course closes for walk throughs at 8:00 am.
* Per NFHS rules, coaches, spectators, parents, and athletes may not pace or run with participants during the race.
* Per NFHS rules, the use of electronic devices for any review of an official's decision is not permitted.
* Please look over the Cross Country Sports Book for more information and times on these and other matters.
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
* Special thanks to the following medical/emergency volunteers :
Encore, Stacy Rose and the local EMT's, Courtland Fire Department , Moulton Fire Department and the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office Medical Team!
* Please be aware of your surroundings and make room for emergency personnel trying to get runners out of the course.
If you need medical attention, EMT's are located at the finish line next to the museum.
* Restrooms are located by the start-line, in the museum, and in the hut next to the amphitheater.
* Per AHSAA, we have been asked to ask you NOT to mess with any of the sound systems. We are trying to cover as much area as the park as is possible for Emergencies and other needed information, and that requires LOUD VOLUME. It can't be set just anywhere, and it's in the areas it's been for 17+ years. If it's too loud, set your tent somewhere else. * The following Concessions are available today @ start line or behind amphitheater.
* Regular Concessions at the Coke Wagon behind Start Line
* Kona Shaved Ice
* Travelling Tom's Coffee
* Beverley Ann's Cookie and Ice Cream Truck
* Funnel Cakes and Fried Oreos.
*Team IP selling State T-Shirts near the Start Line.
* NO PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE MUSEUM! THIS IS FOR EMERGENCY PERSONNEL ONLY!
* All coaches, family members, non-current runners, and spectators must stay OFF of the race course, OFF of the start line, and OUT of the finish chute. Keep the course CLEAR at all times. Runners could be disqualified due to interference.

* No Pets or Bicycles per AHSAA rules.
* NO SMOKING at AHSAA School Athletic events.
* Stay out of the lake.
* Stay off of the mounds.
