Welcome to the Chickasaw Trails Invitational,
the home site of the Alabama State Meet 2002-2023, and the 2008 & 2015 AAU Nationals.

* We have runners from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee here today.


1A-2A Division: 221 students or less in grades 10-12.
3A-4A Division: 222 Students or more up to 373 students in grades 10-12.
We follow the school size category of the AHSAA, therefore, out of state private schools multiply enrollment by 1.35% (grades 10-12) to determine the division that your team will compete in.


It is permissible for a small school to compete with large schools on Saturday if room is available.


* Spectators are reminded to not congregate within 6 feet of a person from another household, use proper face masking, and to be aware of others around you. Spectators shall wear a mask or other facial covering that covers his or her nostrils and mouth at all times while within 6 feet of a person from another household.

* We remind runners that they should refrain from high fives, handshakes, and other physical contact.


RACE /TEAM INSTRUCTION:
* We are using electronic chips. Runners make sure the bib # and the chip # match. Each runners name is listed on a bib. Make sure the chips are zip tied securely to your shoes. The school of the runner will be invoiced $25 for each chip lost.

* Insert the zip-tie tip through the flat side as in these pics.

* Coaches: Return all unused chips, your packets, and unused supplies IMMEDIATELY! This is MANDATORY!

* Timing chips will NOT be taken off at the finish chute.

* Coaches will return race packets including race chips to the registration tent after completion of each race.

* Coaches should use good judgement in setting up team tents in regards to social distancing. In addition to expanding the usual tent area at Oakville, use the borders of the lake and the east side of the starting line.

* Coaches, be sure to visit our Hospitality Room today sponsored by the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce.

* Runners must be at the starting line NO SOONER THAN 5 Minutes prior to your race time!

* The starting line management staff will notify teams when the team may approach the starting line ( 3 minutes BEFORE schedule start time ) Only coaches, runners and race staff will be allowed access to the starting line.

* Runners may wear a mask into the starting box, secure in hand while running or on shorts, and put back on while in the finish chute.

* Limited finish line staff will be available.

* Bottle water will be provided for each runner.

* Finish chute has been lengthened and widened. Also, the finish chute will be barricaded whereas there will be a 10 foot distance between finish line and spectators.

* Starting line will be barricaded from spectators. The starting line will consist of 3-4 lines within a team's starting block, whereas the team's 7 runners will line up as follows:
Top 2 runners on first line,
runners 3-4 next line,
runners 5-6 next line, and
runner 7 on the next line.
The lines within a team's starting block will be 1 foot apart. Starting box assignments will be given at packet pickup.

* Course is well marked.

* Please pick up all garbage around your team tent before you leave. You should have a garbage bag in your packet.

* For medical emergencies on race day contact:

* ALL VEHICLES must be out of the park/course-race area by 3pm Friday 7am Saturday. You must park in regular parking south of the museum. NO PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE MUSEUM! THIS IS FOR EMERGENCY PERSONNEL ONLY!


GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
* We want to remind you to please help us keep the park clean by picking up all trash before, during, and after the race.

* Thanks to the many volunteers that are assisting at today's race and especially the parents of the Jesse Owens Runners Club.

* Special thanks to the Medical Team here today: Stacy Rose, Greg's Ambulance Service, Encore, and local EMT's.

* If you have an announcement, it must be cleared through the meet officials to be given to me at the Sound Tent at the starting line.
Emergency announcements will be made immediately.

* Restrooms are located by the start-line, in the museum, and in the hut next to the amphitheater.

* Concessions are located next to the amphitheater. Limited pre-packaged concessions today. Kona is selling shaved ice today.

* All spectators are encouraged to social distance and wear face masking.

* Official Chickasaw Trails Cross Country Soft-Style T-shirts on sale today, $15. And we NOW ACCEPT your Debit Cards at the T-shirt Tent, located either by the start line or by the hut next to Amphitheater.

* NO PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE MUSEUM! THIS IS FOR EMERGENCY PERSONNEL ONLY!

* All coaches, family members, non-current runners, and spectators must stay off of the race course, off of the start line, and out of the finish chute. Keep the course clear at all times. Runners could be disqualified due to interference.

* No Pets or Bicycles per AHSAA rules.

* Stay out of the lake per AHSAA.

* Stay off of the mounds.

* Please be aware of your surroundings and make room for emergency personnel trying to get runners out of the course.
If you need medical attention, EMT's are located at the finish line next to the museum.

* Coaches may pickup Awards at Registration/Packet Pickup ASAP after your race.


* Top 10 each div receive t-shirts

* Top 3 teams ea div receive trophies

* Top 5 finishers ea div receive medals

* Overall finisher ea div receives an individual trophy
