We would like to welcome Marvin Chow and Jamie Lee from the AHSAA with us today.


RUNNER & TEAM INSTRUCTION:


* COACHES: Check-in No later than one hour prior to the starting time for each division.

* COACHES: PLEASE RETURN ALL UNUSED ITEMS (Chips, Packets, etc...) IMMEDIATELY!! THIS IS MANDATORY!! Please Return ALL CHIPS as soon as you remove them from your runners shoes AT Your Team Tent!

* We are using electronic chips. Runners make sure the bib # and the chip # match. Each runners name is listed on your bib. Make sure the chips are zip tied securely to your shoes. Insert the zip-tie tip through the flat side of the zip tie as in these pics.

After the race, the electronic chips will NOT be removed at the finish chute. PROCEED ON TO YOUR TEAM TENT and your chips will be removed there. DO NOT STOP IN THE CHUTE.

* Runners must be at the starting area 5 minutes prior to your race time. Listen for the race starter to tell you when to approach.

* Starting Boxes are pre-assigned! Runners may ONLY use the box assigned to your team. NO EXTRA BOXES.

* Course is well marked. No cutting corners. Race officials are everywhere.

* Please pick up all garbage around your team tent before you leave. You should have a garbage bag in your packet.

* ALL VEHICLES must be out of the park/course-race area by 7am. You must park in regular parking south of the museum. NO PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE MUSEUM! THIS IS FOR EMERGENCY PERSONNEL ONLY!

* Current Non-Runners must stay off of the start line and off the course. DO NOT CROSS RED TAPE anywhere on or around the course.

* Course closes for walk throughs at 8:10 am.

* GPS tracking/timing devices by participants are not allowed.

* Per NFHS rules, coaches, spectators, parents, and athletes may not pace or run with participants during the race.

* Per NFHS rules, the use of electronic devices for any review of an official's decision is not permitted.

* Please look over the Cross Country Sports Book for more information and times.

* Byrd Band Running Products here today with your running accessories: including Cooling Headbands, Compression Sleeves, and Training Products. Located near the T-shirt Tent.


GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* Alabama State Meet Programs on sale today at the light pole west side of the start line.

* No Smoking at Alabama High School sporting events.

* We would like to thank the following medical/emergency volunteers that are assisting us today :
Encore, Paige Martin, Stacy Rose and the local EMT's, and Greg's Ambulance Service!

* Please be aware of your surroundings and make room for emergency personnel trying to get runners out of the course.
If you need medical attention, EMT's are located at the finish line next to the museum.


* Restrooms are located by the start-line, in the museum, and in the hut next to the amphitheater.

* The following Concessions are available today near the restroom hut:
* Regular Concessions at the Pepsi Wagon behind Start Line
* Kona Shaved Ice
* Funnel Cakes and Fried Oreos.

* NO PARKING ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE MUSEUM! THIS IS FOR EMERGENCY PERSONNEL ONLY!

* All coaches, family members, non-current runners, and spectators must stay OFF of the race course, OFF of the start line, and OUT of the finish chute. Keep the course CLEAR at all times. Runners could be disqualified due to interference. DO NOT CROSS RED TAPE anywhere on or around the course.

* No Pets or Bicycles per AHSAA rules.

* Stay out of the lake.

* Stay off of the mounds.




AWARDS:
* Awards start at 10:15am at the Amphitheater.

* It is the expectation of the AHSAA that all athletes and coaches display excellent character and sportsmanship during any part of the meet, or awards presentations. Failure to respond accordingly will result in a monetary fine and possible probation and/or suspension.
